Dr. Bilen Aküzüm is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Aepnus Technology, an Oakland-based company developing electrochemical systems that convert sodium sulfate waste into valuable industrial chemicals. He leads technology development, scale-up operations, and major funding initiatives supporting cleaner chemical production.

Bilen has guided Aepnus from lab-scale research to 40-ton pilot deployments, advancing a circular model for chemical manufacturing. His work integrates materials science, electrochemical engineering, and process design to strengthen sustainable supply chains for battery and critical materials industries.
